Ross Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Bear Paw Court is a glorious local campground, and after a long day outdoors Chinook Hotel is a nice spot to spend a night or two. Having a good time in the Bearpaw Mountains is simple. Big Bear Dam is not far       at all from Ross Lake, and do take a hike on the Cow Island Trail. It is very dried out here at Ross Lake frequently; May is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. For the period of the days of summer here at Ross Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 20's, and all through                  the dark hours in the winter at Ross Lake temperatures sink to the 0's.
