A visit to Rose Lake is always a good idea. A lake nearby is Hebgen Lake, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - West Yellowstone is a delightful place to spend a night or two. It is very dry here at Rose Lake usually; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot.

| | came for an overnight stay Cabin Creek Campground is a delightful place to camp. Beaver Creek Campground 2 is a glorious local campground, and Madison River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Lightning Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and don't leave Rose Lake without first going for a hike along the Wapiti Creek Trail.

Resort West Yellowstone Conference is a brilliant site to get some rest. Throughout the long summer days, highs mostly are in the 80's at Rose Lake with overnight lows in the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's;
after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Rose Lake drop into the 10's. Why not visit close by Rose Creek since you're here at Rose Lake, and the snow is great at Big Sky.
Now, you may think that's heaps but
there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Rose Lake. Head up to Moonlight Basin and strap some skis to your feet; great hiking is available along the Cutoff Trail. Carrot Basin is a magnificent place; Lookout Point is in the neighborhood and always nice to stop by.
