Don't leave Rock Lake without first going for a hike along the Engle Peak Trail; Elephant Peak is picturesque and can be spotted from here. These mountains rock, just look at all the cool stuff to do in the Cabinet Mountains. Trout Creek Campground is a nice campground nearby; Rock Creek Meadows is a magnificent site here at Rock Lake. If you want a great time in the       great outdoors just come on up to the Cabinet Mountains. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Rock Lake; Engle Lake Trail is a nice local trail, and Howard Lake Campground is a nice local campground. This is a pleasant neighborhood for people who like lakes. Libby Lakes is a lake in the vicinity; there's splendid hiking along the Goat Peak Trail. An average amount of precipitation falls at Rock Lake; November is when you get the most rain here, and the driest                  of the months is July. Whitewater paddling is perfect on Vermilion River, and a day on the slopes of Turner Mountain is just what you need. Through the warmest time of the year here at Rock Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's.
