Go to Rice Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. For the period of the long summer days at Rice Lake temperatures are generally in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows at Rice Lake throughout the winter commonly dip into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Just can't get enough of the Lewis Range. If you get bored of Rice Lake, you could also check out close by

| | James Lake; Russell Gates Memorial Campground is a wonderful local campground.
This lake is located in the wonderful Lewis Range. Shoup Lake Dam has perfect water scenery and it's close to Rice Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Monture Creek Campground is a wonderful spot to camp. Not much rain falls here at Rice Lake; most of the snow falls through January, and July on the other hand is the driest.

stuff to do in the Lewis Range. Dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Deer Lodge; there's magnificent hiking along the Dunham Lodgepole Trail. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Rice Lake; Center Ridge Trail is a great local
trail, and a lake close by is Bandy Reservoir. That right there is heaps already, but it keeps on going; Rice Lake has it all. Blackfoot River - North Fork has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot nearby, and why not take a refreshing
hike along the Monture Haun Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. A quick trip to Dunham Creek next to Rice Lake is a wonderful idea; in the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Blackfoot River.
