You could also visit Obermayer Lake if you're here at Lake Rene; it's close by; get yourself into a kayak and hit Kootenai River. If you came for an overnight stay Kootenai River Camp Ground is a great spot to camp, and get wet paddling on Yaak River. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. Rodeway Inn Libby is a good place to get some rest, and nearby       you locate the Pulpit Mountain National Recreation Trail which is a nice hiking trail. High temperatures at Lake Rene during the summer are in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Lake Rene. The annual precipitation here at Lake Rene is about average; the month with most of the rain is November; the driest month is July. Why                  not visit Lake Rene Dam since you're here; going for a hike on the Tepee Mountain Trail is always a perfect adventure. Sure, Rainbow Lake is just a very short distance away.
