A visit to Rat Lake is always a good idea. Nearby lakes? Sure, Pioneer Lakes is in the neighborhood of Rat Lake, and if you need a place to stay Big Sky Resort is a perfect choice. This lake is so wonderful. Very stunning scenery and pleasant skiing is what you get at Big Sky, and a great close by hotel is Bucks T4 Lodge. | | of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows at Rat Lake through the winter mostly dip into the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Moonlight Basin; you can run the rapids of Gallatin River. The Pole Gulch Trail offers hiking at its best, and Rat Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Moose Flat Campground is a delightful local campground.

a delightful time here at Rat Lake. There's delightful hiking along the Divide Trail, and there are plenty of people from Bozeman here at Rat Lake. Some nearby water includes Lime Creek, and Avalanche Spire Rock is clearly visible
from Rat Lake. Not much precipitation falls here at Rat Lake; through May this area sees the most rain while February is usually the driest month.
Camping at Castle Rock Inn is always a good experience, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Rat Lake; Red Rock Trail is a magnificent local trail.
