The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows at Rainbow Lake through the winter frequently sink into the 10's. Now, you may believe that's a load but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Absaroka Range. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at       close by Slide Lake. And if that's not enough there's heaps more exciting stuff to do in the Absaroka Range. If you need a place to stay Travelodge Yellowstone Park North is a pleasant choice; the Beaver Lakes Loop Trail offers hiking at its best. Rainbow Lake gets very little rainfall; May is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Rainbow Lake is a great site to visit for more than one day,                  Eagle Creek Campground is a great site to camp nearby, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Mulherin Creek.
