And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do next to Rainbow Lake. Very stunning scenery and brilliant skiing is what you get at Turner Mountain, and the peak of Flatiron Mountain can be seen from Rainbow Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Pipe Creek Campground since you're here at Rainbow Lake, and pleasant       hiking is available along the Pulpit Mountain National Recreation Trail. Drift down the rapids of Kootenai River in a kayak; probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, La Foe Lake is just a very short distance away.
