Rainbow Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Pipe Creek Campground is a delightful local campground, and if the weather is splendid, you can go for a hike along the Pulpit Mountain National Recreation Trail. From a rain point of view Rainbow Lake is a rather typical spot; November is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is July. Camping at Kootenai River       Camp Ground is always a great experience, and on a wonderful day you obtain a brilliant view of Flatiron Mountain from Rainbow Lake. If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Yaak River, and if you need a site to stay Rodeway Inn Libby is a good choice. That right there is loads already, but it keeps on going; Rainbow Lake has it all. Best Western Kootenai River Inn & Casino is a delightful spot to get some rest.                  There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Turner Mountain, and a great spot for whitewater paddling is Kootenai River. Summertime highs at Rainbow Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's.
