Rainbow Lake is pretty waterless regularly; most of the rain falls all through November; August is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. You'll come across a pretty lake called Upper Thompson Lake near Rainbow Lake, and you can have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Slimmer Creek Trail. If you came for an overnight stay Happy's Inn and Resort is a good spot       to camp, and do take a hike on the Sipes Creek Trail. And that's not all you can do here at Rainbow Lake. If you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel - St. Regis is a good choice, and going for a hike along the Divide Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. At Rainbow Lake during the summer highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 40's. For the period of the winter the highs are generally in the 30's, and nighttime                  lows through the wintertime for Rainbow Lake tend to be in the 10's.
