At Rainbow Lake you don’t see much precipitation; the month with most of the rain is June while February is frequently the driest month. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Woods Lake, and the skiing at Big Mountain is delightful. You'll meet a lot of people from Kalispell here, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Flathead River - Middle Fork. What a spot       this is for outdoors folks. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Blacktail Mountain. A trip to nearby Lazy Bay is very relaxing, and you can go for a hike on the Whitefish Divide-Smokey Range National Recreation Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Les Mason Campground is a magnificent campground nearby, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Rainbow Lake; Micho Trail is a good local trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the neighborhood of                  Rainbow Lake. Stay the night at Whitefish RV Park; get yourself into a kayak and hit Stillwater River. This lake is so wonderful. Kristianna Mountain Homes is a perfect spot to get some rest; enjoy a round of golf at Whitefish Lake Golf Club. Good hiking is available along the Danny on Memorial National Recreation Trail; why not have a look at close by Lazy Creek while you're here at Rainbow Lake. Lakes are great; Murray Lake is a lake that's close to Rainbow Lake; dry warm beds await you at Grouse Mountain Lodge. Summertime highs at Rainbow Lake commonly tend to be in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's.
