Rainbow Lake is a nice lake to visit. If you come at the right time of year, Stillwater River offers some pleasant whitewater, and enjoy a round of golf at Whitefish Lake Golf Club. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Big Mountain since you're here; the Whitefish Divide-Smokey Range National Recreation Trail is a splendid hiking trail nearby. All through the summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Rainbow Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Rainbow Lake plunge into the 10's. that; some close by water includes Lazy Creek. During your visit to Rainbow Lake you'll meet some people from Kalispell for sure, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Flathead River -
Middle Fork.
This lake is so wonderful. There is a tremendous hiking trail in the vicinity of Rainbow Lake called the Danny on Memorial National Recreation Trail, and you can never get enough of the good skiing at Blacktail Mountain.
It is very dried out here at Rainbow Lake generally; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Rainbow Lake truly is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise.
After a long day outdoors Grouse Mountain Lodge is a great site to spend a night or two, and going for a hike on the Micho Trail is always a brilliant adventure. What a site this is for outdoors folks. A perfect nearby hotel is Kristianna Mountain Homes, and a scenic lake like Spencer Lake is a nice location to have a look at.
