Camping is available at Cable Mountain Campground,       and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Discovery Ski. Do stop by Boulder Lakes close to Racetrack Lake, it's a gorgeous lake, and Brown Derby Rsrnt Bar & Motel is a great site to get some rest. Racetrack Lake is commonly a quite dried out spot; the wettest month of the year is usually June, that's the one that rains the most while February is usually the driest month. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Racetrack Lake while night                  lows are regularly in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Racetrack Lake plunge into the 10's.
