    Beautiful Pirate Lake has much to offer visitors. Get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Belt Creek; Showdown is a very popular ski area nearby. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff at Pirate Lake. Why not explore Pirate Dam while you're here, and a great nearby hotel is Grand Union Hotel. Summertime highs at Pirate Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs all  
   through the wintertime are usually in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Pirate Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Pirate Lake is a glorious place to visit for more than one day, Fort Ponderosa Campground is a glorious place to camp nearby, and Big Coulee is nearby, and is a magnificent place. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Birkeland Reservoir; Thain Creek Campground is a magnificent local campground.
 
               Not much rain falls here at Pirate Lake; May is the wettest month with most rain while February is typically the driest month. This is a delightful neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Big Sag Lake is a lake close at hand, and swing by Shaw Creek it's a nice place to check out.
