Nearby lakes? Sure, Duffy Lake is in the vicinity of Peterson Lake. At Peterson Lake you don’t see much rain; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is October. Take a hike on the Mill Creek Trail, and paddling on Kootenai Creek is so much fun. High temperatures at Peterson Lake through the summer months are in       the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's; night lows through the wintertime for Peterson Lake tend to be in the 10's. A brilliant place to camp here at Peterson Lake is Fort Fizzle Campground; do visit Duffy Lake Dam since you're here. Man, is there a heap of entertaining stuff to do in the Bitterroot Range. If you need a spot to stay Days Inn And Suites Lolo is a good choice, and drift down the rapids                  of Mill Creek in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. The Sweeney Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best, and if you've had enough of Peterson Lake, South One Horse Lake is close by. This place rocks, just check out all the fun stuff to do in the vicinity of Peterson Lake. Peterson Lake is right by the Carlton Lake Trail; Pyramid Buttes is charming and can be made out from here. You truly have to like the Bitterroot Range.
