You'll need more than a day to explore everything Peterson Lake has to offer, you can camp at Maverick Mountain RV Park, and a magnificent close by hotel is Comfort Inn Dillon. Some of the water close by flows, like Bailey Creek, and there are great places to discover along the Pattee Ridge Trail. One of the dominant marks of the surroundings of Peterson Lake is Bloody Dick Peak; going for a       hike on the Pole Creek Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Peterson Lake is a good site to visit for more than one day, Reservoir Lake Campground is a good site to camp nearby, and there is a splendid hiking trail nearby called the Bull Creek Polecreek Trail. Peterson Lake is pretty arid mostly; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through                  the summertime months at Peterson Lake highs are generally in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 30's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Peterson Lake.
