Panhandle Lake is a location that is pretty dried out mostly; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Through the summer at Panhandle Lake temperatures are typically in the 70's, and the overnight is a tad chillier of course, generally in the 30's. The wintertime       brings highs down to the 20's while the cold winter nights at Panhandle Lake are in the 0's. All year is a brilliant time in the Absaroka Range if you love the outdoors. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Big Timber is a great place to spend a night or two, and Panhandle Lake is right by the Pilot Creek Trail. Stillwater River has a splendid whitewater paddling spot nearby; lakes are such calm places, why not visit Mutt Lake. This lake is one of the great                  places here in the Absaroka Range. In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clarks Fork Yellowstone, and a perfect location to stop by close by is Lulu Pass. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Panhandle Lake. Courthouse Mountain is clearly visible from Panhandle Lake; do take a hike on the North Crandall Trail. So many cool things to do here in the Absaroka Range, too glorious to be true.
