This lake is so wonderful. No need to travel far to stop at out of the ordinary stuff like Alp Rock, and Ovis Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Soda Butte Campground is a wonderful local campground. Ovis Lake is one of the lakes here in the Absaroka Range. That right there is a load of entertaining stuff already but it goes on, the Absaroka Range has it all. While you're here at Ovis Lake you can take a hike       along the North Crandall Trail; if you need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel Big Timber is a splendid choice. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Ovis Lake while night lows are typically in the 30's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Ovis Lake. At Ovis Lake you don’t see much precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most while February                  is usually the driest month. Hiking along the Republic Trail is nice fun, and you can run the rapids of Stillwater River. Be careful coming to the Absaroka Range, you might not ever wanna go home again. This lake is so wonderful. So much enjoyable stuff to do here at Ovis Lake, too good to be true.
