Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Flathead River - Middle Fork, and if you're popping by from Kalispell, you won't be the only one. Going for a hike on the Doris Creek Trail is always a great adventure, and why not explore close by Peters Creek while you're here at Olive Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Swan River       offers some delightful whitewater; why not camp at Lake Blaine Resort Campground since you're here at Olive Lake. High temperatures at Olive Lake all through the summertime are in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's; during the dark hours in the winter at Olive Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. There are perfect places to discover along the Jimmie Ridge Trail, and camping is available                  at Bigfork Campground. There is a good hiking trail in the neighborhood of Olive Lake called the Alpine Trail, and Kid Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at. Man, is there plenty of entertaining things to do near Olive Lake. Olive Lake is commonly a reasonably dried up place; all through June this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. A pleasant nearby hotel is Bad Rock B&B, and naturally, all our national parks are fine spots to pop by and Glacier National Park is no exception. Do have a look at Amy Lake near Olive Lake, it's a wonderful lake, and a round of golf at nearby Eagle Bend Golf Club is a perfect way to kill some time.
