So much entertaining stuff right next door to Northern Pacific Reservoir, truly mind-boggling. Going for a hike on the Backside Trail is always a good adventure; Northern Pacific Reservoir is not far at all from Helena. Near Northern Pacific Reservoir you find the 1906 Trail which is a good hiking trail, and dry warm beds await       you at Red Lion Colonial Hotel. The skiing at Great Divide is nice; Lakeside Resort and Marina is a magnificent campground nearby. Stay the night at Helena Campground and RV Park, and McClellan Creek is in the neighborhood of Northern Pacific Reservoir and is always a pleasure to stop by. Northern Pacific Reservoir is generally a reasonably dried up spot; through the month of June you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February.                  This lake is so wonderful. A delightful lake like Helena Valley Reservoir in the vicinity of Northern Pacific Reservoir is a delightful place to explore, and since you're here, you might as well go to Holmes Gulch. Throughout the summertime months at Northern Pacific Reservoir highs are ordinarily in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows at Northern Pacific Reservoir during the wintertime regularly drop into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
