North One Horse Lake is a nice lake to visit. The Bitterroot Range scenery is always beautiful. For the duration of the summer months at North One Horse Lake highs are frequently in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at North One Horse Lake dip into the 10's. So many enjoyable things to do here in the Bitterroot Range,

| | too magnificent to be true. The vista of Lolo Peak from North One Horse Lake is pretty, and there's whitewater on Kootenai Creek for all you adrenaline people. All year is a magnificent time in the Bitterroot Range if you adore the outdoors. There are great places to look at along the Carlton Lake Trail, and a nice nearby hotel is Lolo-Days Inn Missoula South/Blue Mountain. the Sweeney Ridge Trail is always a perfect adventure. So many cool things to do here at North One Horse Lake, too perfect to be true. A lake close by is Carlton Lake; if you came for an overnight stay Square Dance Center and Campground
is a magnificent place to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Fort Fizzle Campground while you're here at North One Horse Lake, and get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Mill Creek. Super 8 Motel - Missoula/Brooks
Street is a magnificent location to get some rest; nearby you find the Mill Creek Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail. North One Horse Lake gets very little rain; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month of the year is October. This lake is so wonderful.

Tag Alder Lake
 | 18 miles away I venture up to Tag Alder every year. It is getting more and more difficult to get up there because of the new growth of trees from the fires of 2000. Once there it is beautiful lake. Another half hour hike up and you will be at the summit of the mountain. There is a nice camp area on North shore. Fishing is best in late spring using small spinners or powerbait.... |
