There's so much to do here at Nightmare Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Woodbine Campground is a great site for that, and you're almost certainly hooked on lakes, Cataract Lake is one of those close by. Nightmare Lake is a beautiful lake in the Absaroka Range. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! The Absaroka Range is great! Good hiking is available along the Black Butte       Trail; Super 8 Motel Big Timber is a good place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Lodgepole Trail is always a splendid adventure, and there's whitewater on Stillwater River for all you adrenaline junkies. If you came to camp Emerald Lake Campground is a perfect place to do that, and if you've had enough of Nightmare Lake, Woodbine Lake is nearby. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Go for a hike on the Republic Trail.                  All through the days of summer at Nightmare Lake highs are generally in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Nightmare Lake are in the 10's.
