After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Whitehall is a wonderful site to spend a night or two, and not far from Nelson Reservoir you'll come across Smith Reservoir which is a picturesque lake. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Lost Cabin Lake Recreation Trail is glorious fun, and camping at Stardust Country Inn and RV Park is always a wonderful experience.                  You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Nelson Reservoir. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Miller Reservoir, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Big Hole River. For the period of the summertime here at Nelson Reservoir, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's. Summer night lows descend down to the 40's. All through the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Nelson Reservoir.
