Once the sun is down it dips down to the 30's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Mutt Lake. So much exciting stuff to do here in the Absaroka Range, too perfect to be true. You could also visit Panhandle Lake while you're here at Mutt Lake; it's close by, and there are wonderful locations to explore along the       Pilot Creek Trail. Mutt Lake is one of the lakes here in the Absaroka Range. A great place to camp here at Mutt Lake is Colter Campground; get your heart beating on the delightful whitewater of Stillwater River. And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do in the vicinity of Mutt Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Clarks Fork Yellowstone, and if you're here, you might as well explore Lulu Pass. Around                  Mutt Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Mutt Lake without first going for a hike along the North Crandall Trail, and camping at Soda Butte Campground is always a magnificent experience. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Republic Trail is always a great adventure, and if you need a site to stay Super 8 Big Timber is a great choice. Man, is there a load of entertaining things to do in the Absaroka Range.
