A delightful site to camp here at Mudhole Lake is Painted Rocks State Recreation Campground, and Jerusalem Lake is a brilliant lake nearby. The South Route of Old Nez Perce Trail is a pleasant hiking trail next to Mudhole Lake, and Fales Flat is a nice place to check out. From a rainfall point of view Mudhole Lake is a pretty common place;                  through the month of January you get the most snow around here, and the driest of the months is July. All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Bitterroot Range will keep you coming back repeatedly. Getting to Fales Creek from Mudhole Lake is trouble-free, and camping at Little West Fork Campground is always a pleasant experience. This lake is so wonderful. Through the summertime months at Mudhole Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's, and the night is rather chillier of course, regularly in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Mudhole Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
