If you came for an overnight stay Bear Creek Pass Campground is a pleasant spot to camp, and do take a hike on the Trapper Peak Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on White Sand Creek. Mud Lake is right by the Ward Mountain Trail, and Best Western Hamilton Inn is a perfect location to get some rest. An average amount of precipitation falls       at Mud Lake; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow, and the driest of the months is July. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Mud Lake. Lakes are great; Twelvemile Lake is a lake that's next to Mud Lake, and why not take a little visit to Twelvemile Creek since you're here. This lake is one of the great places here in the Bitterroot Range. Gotta ski! Lost Trail is a good place to do that, and Lower Twin Lakes Dam                  is a spot that is in the neighborhood of Mud Lake. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff truly is plentiful here in the Bitterroot Range. Not far from Mud Lake, you'll locate Bailey Lake which is a scenic lake, and Poverty Slide is an out of the ordinary place to pop by while at Mud Lake. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Mud Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while Mud Lake night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.
