Dry warm beds await you at Imperial Inn, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Mulherin Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such calm locations, why not visit Heather Lake in close proximity to Mud Lake; camping at Palace Butte Campground is always a wonderful experience. After a long day outdoors Western Heritage Inn is a glorious place to spend a night or two, and Emerald Lake is a perfect lake nearby.

| | Just can't get enough of Mud Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Yellowstone River offers some great whitewater; needless to say North Fork Eightmile Creek flows through this neighborhood. A great spot to camp here at Mud Lake is Blackmore Campground, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Pole Gulch Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Bridger Bowl is a nice local ski area, and on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Red Rock Trail. | |

Mud Lake gets very little precipitation; the month with most of the rain is May while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Mud Lake during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's.
When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Mud Lake tend to be in the 10's.

Bridger Bowl

Incredible expert only skiing is available off Bridger's new Schlasman's Chairlift and on the renowned ''Ridge.'' Skiers and snowboarders who wish to ride the new lift or access this terrain, collectively known as Ridge Terrain, must have an avalanche transceiver (457 kHz). It is strongly recommended to have a partner, a shovel and expert skiing abilities in addition to knowledge of the terrain before venturing into the area which will have no hazard markings, no grooming and no marked trails.
