Troy City Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and splendid water scenery is available at Lake Creek Dam near Mud Lake. On a delightful day at Mud Lake you can take a hike along the Pulpit Mountain National Recreation Trail, and get your heart beating       on the wonderful whitewater of Kootenai River. So much exciting stuff to do here at Mud Lake, too wonderful to be true. A fine spot to camp here at Mud Lake is La-vi RV Park; if you're here you can take a hike along the Grouse Lake Trail. All through the long summer days at Mud Lake highs are usually in the 80's while nighttime lows are typically in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's while Mud Lake night low temperatures through                  the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Dorr Skeels Campground; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Turner Mountain is pretty near. This lake is so wonderful. A perfect site for whitewater paddling near Mud Lake is Yaak River; Rodeway Inn Libby is a nice location to get some rest. A common amount of rain falls here at Mud Lake; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow; July meanwhile is the driest month.
