Schoolhouse Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at; going for a hike along the Crowell Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Libby, and why not a little side tour to Falls Creek. Man, is there plenty of exciting things to do near Mud Lake. A wonderful location to camp here at Mud Lake is Dorr Skeels Campground, and glorious skiing awaits       you at Turner Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Pulpit Mountain National Recreation Trail, and camping at La-vi RV Park is always a brilliant experience. Summertime highs at Mud Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's while night lows are usually in the 40's. All through the wintertime the highs are typically in the 30's, and night lows at Mud Lake throughout the winter usually drop into the 10's. Hiking along the Grouse                  Lake Trail is pleasant fun, and Lake Creek Dam is delightful. Mud Lake gets a normal amount of rainfall; throughout the month of January you get the most snow around here; July is when it's the driest. If you need a place to stay Best Western Kootenai River Inn & Casino is a pleasant choice; if you come at the right time of year, Kootenai River offers some fine whitewater. This lake is so wonderful.
