Mud Lake is pretty dehydrated typically; the month with most of the rain is June, and the driest month of the year is October. During the summertime months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Mud Lake; during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Mud Lake fall into the 10's. Don't forget       to take a fine little spree to Crystal Creek, naturally you could also have a look at Fuse Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. Mud Lake is right by the Quigg Peak Trail; a splendid vista of striking Sapphire Mountains is available. Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Mud Lake. The summits of the Sapphire Mountains add much beauty to the area around Mud Lake, and do take a hike on the Hogback Ridge Trail.                  Skalkaho Pass is a tremendous site to visit close to Mud Lake, and Best Western Hamilton Inn is a splendid place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Have a great hiking adventure along the Butte Cabin Ridge Trail, and you can stay the night at Crystal Creek Campground. This lake is so wonderful.
