If you need a place to stay Bad Rock B&B is a wonderful choice, and the Howe Lake Trail is a splendid hiking trail nearby. Be careful coming to the Lewis Range, you might not ever want to return back home again. One of the main characteristics of the surroundings of Mud Lake is Swanberg Mountain, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Flathead River - Middle Fork. Mud Lake really is in the middle of       a gorgeous outdoors paradise. This lake is one of the great places here in the Lewis Range. Glacier National Park is a nice national park. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Glacier Campground is a good location for that. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Glacier Park/Columbia Falls is a tremendous site to spend a night or two, and while you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Kalispell.                  What a location this is for outdoors folks. Do stop at Lake West next to Mud Lake, it's a gorgeous lake; close by you locate the South Boundary Trail which is a good hiking trail. Get dripping wet paddling on Flathead River - Middle Fork, and golf can be played at Glacier View Golf Club. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Mud Lake with nighttime lows in the 40's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Mud Lake. This lake is so wonderful. On a good day at Mud Lake you can take a hike along the Columbia Mountain Trail; Mud Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Sundance RV Park and Campground is a good local campground. Around Mud Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; all through the month of December you get the most snow around here, and the driest of the months is April. This lake is so wonderful.
