This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Flathead River - Middle Fork; if you need a spot to stay Bad Rock B&B is a great choice. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Mud Lake. The Columbia Mountain Trail is a nice hiking trail in the vicinity of Mud Lake, and some of the water nearby flows, like Rubideau Creek. A trip to Glacier National Park is       recommended, and whitewater paddling is fine on Flathead River - Middle Fork. A lake nearby is Lake West, and a round of golf at nearby Glacier View Golf Club is a brilliant way to kill some time. There is a pleasant hiking trail in close proximity to Mud Lake called the Howe Lake Trail, and there are plenty of folks from Kalispell here at Mud Lake. Be careful coming to Mud Lake, you might not ever want to go back home again. Around Mud Lake you don’t                  get a lot of rain; through December this area sees the most snow, and the driest of the months is April. Mud Lake is one of the lakes here in the Lewis Range. At Mud Lake all through the summer months highs are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Mud Lake are in the 0's. And that's not all the things to do here in the Lewis Range. If you came to camp Glacier Campground is a pleasant site to do that, and going for a hike on the South Boundary Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Mud Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Sundance RV Park and Campground is a splendid local campground, and dry warm beds await you at Glacier Park Super 8 Motel. So much fun stuff in the Lewis Range, just inspiring.
