Mud Lake is located in the Lewis Range. Lakes are such serene locations, why not visit Spring Lake near Mud Lake, and some nearby water includes Big Salmon Creek. All year is a good time in the Lewis Range if you have a thing about the outdoors. The Haystack Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best, and the sight of pretty Mud Lake Mountain is pleasant. This lake is so wonderful. So much cool stuff to do       at Mud Lake, so little time. Why not camp at Spotted Bear Campground since you're here at Mud Lake; there's perfect hiking along the Helen Creek Trail. Big Salmon Lake is a fine lake close to Mud Lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Lake; White River Trail is a delightful local trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Flathead River - South Fork offers some great whitewater, and Bridge Street Cottages is a                  nice place to get some rest. The yearly rainfall here at Mud Lake is about average; most of the snow falls throughout December while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the Lewis Range. Camping is available at Beaver Creek Campground, and do set aside some time for Little Salmon Park if you're here at Mud Lake. Summertime highs at Mud Lake typically tend to be in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's.
