This lake is so wonderful. Lots of folks from Missoula come to Mountaineer Lake; splendid hiking is available along the Foothills Trail. Fissure Glacier is an exciting thing to see since you're here at Mountaineer Lake. A nice place to camp here at Mountaineer Lake is Saint Marys Lake Campground. Lakes? Sure, Lost Lake is close by. The warmest time of the year       brings highs in the 80's to Mountaineer Lake with overnight lows in the 50's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Mountaineer Lake. Skiing at Montana Snowbowl is one of those things you just have to do; Daughter of the Sun Mountain can be spotted from Mountaineer Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Americas Best Value Port Polson Inn, and Giant Spring is always fun to check out.                  Mountaineer Lake is a location that is rather dry ordinarily; through the month of June you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest. After a long day outdoors Twin Creeks Bed and Breakfast is a brilliant place to spend a night or two, and don't leave Mountaineer Lake without first going for a hike along the Crow Creek Trail.
