    Moon Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid nearby hotel is Lodge at Big Sky; you can go for a hike on the Eldridge Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Moon Lake has to offer, you can camp at Elkhorn; Cascade Lakes is a nearby lake that you could pop by. The slopes of Moonlight Basin are so inviting nobody can resist; there are plenty of folks from Bozeman here at Moon  
   Lake.
Through the days of summer here at Moon Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 80's, and the night is a bit cooler of course, typically in the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Moon Lake. Any time is a great time at Moon Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors. While you're here at Moon Lake, you could also pop by striking Deer Lake, and there's whitewater
 
               on Gallatin River for all you adrenaline junkies. After a long day outdoors Rainbow Ranch Lodge is a great place to spend a night or two, and going for a hike on the Divide Trail is always a great adventure.
At Moon Lake you don’t see much rain; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Jumbo Mountain is wonderful and can be made out from Moon Lake, and hey, Gotta ski right? Big Sky is a delightful spot to do that.
This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Moon Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Castle Rock Inn is a good location for that, and don't leave Moon Lake without first going for a hike along the Wapiti Ridge Trail.

There?s this really neat hike a few miles away from us in Big Sky. It starts out near a small pond called Moose Lake, follows a path up some dense forest for a couple of miles, then opens up into these huge rolling meadows surrounded by Cedar Mountain, Pioneer Mountain, and Lone Mountain with a great view of Sphinx Mountain in the distance....
