Moon Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. So much fun stuff near Moon Lake, absolutely mind-boggling. Camping at Moon Lake is great fun, Elkhorn is a great local campground, and you can go for a hike on the Eldridge Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Wapiti Ridge Trail. For the period of the warm days of summer at Moon Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's.

| | The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Moon Lake dip into the 10's.
This lake is so wonderful. There are good spots to look at along the Divide Trail, and Gallatin River is a tremendous whitewater spot close by. Around Moon Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month is
February. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Moonlight Basin, and a lovely lake like Cascade Lakes is a tremendous location to check out. Castle Rock Inn is a great campground here; why not head up to Big Sky and strap some skis to your feet.
