Lake Monroe is a lake worth visiting. High temperatures at Lake Monroe throughout the summer are in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with temperatures at Lake Monroe dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Reid Divide Trail is always a glorious adventure, and Lake Monroe is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Rest-A-Day

| | Campground is a brilliant local campground. There are nice places to explore along the Mountain Meadow Trail; after a long day outdoors Kristianna Mountain Homes is a perfect place to spend a night or two.
Near Lake Monroe you hit upon the Logan Creek Trail which is a good hiking trail; you can run the rapids of Stillwater River. There's some flowing water close by, Hodge Creek is a stream you can visit while you're here, and if you need a place to stay | |

If only every place had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great earth it would be. Everybody close by loves skiing at Blacktail Mountain. There's so much
to do here at Lake Monroe that you need to camp here for a while, Ashley Lake Campground is a fine site for that. Around Lake Monroe you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is frequently June, that's the one that rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture.
