Why not stop by Mirror Lake if you're passing through these parts. Throughout the summer at Mirror Lake highs are generally in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; night lows in the 10's for Mirror Lake. Go for a hike on the Lightning Creek Trail, and Moonlight Basin is a very popular ski area close at hand. | | a lake close at hand, and after a long day outdoors Beaverhead is a great place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Mirror Lake you can observe Blaze Mountain, and don't leave Mirror Lake without first going for a hike along the Wapiti Creek Trail. from Bozeman, and dry warm beds await you at Arrowhead. Big Sky has great slopes and a friendly staff, and going for a hike on the Eldridge Trail is always a great adventure. You believe that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up.
If you come at the right time of year, Gallatin River offers some great whitewater, and Mirror Lake is a glorious place to visit for more than one day, Elkhorn is a glorious place to camp nearby. Nearby lakes? Sure, Beehive Lake is near Mirror Lake, and Castle Rock Inn is a magnificent campground nearby.
