Merrell Lake is a location that is reasonably dried up typically; during May this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Be careful coming to Merrell Lake, you might not ever wanna return home again. If you need a location to stay Yellowstone Park North Travelodge is a delightful choice, and you're probably interested in lakes, Green Lake is one of those close by. Yellowstone River       has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby, and do go to Merrell Dam since you're here. If the weather is splendid here at Merrell Lake, you can go for a hike along the Red Rock Trail; whitewater paddling is fine on Mulherin Creek. A wonderful vista of beautiful Crystal Cross Mountain is available from Merrell Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Mammoth Hot Springs. This lake is so wonderful. Some nearby water includes Canyon Creek, and Tom                  Miner Basin is a good place to check out. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Merrell Lake with nighttime lows in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Merrell Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Carbella Campground, and on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Pole Gulch Trail.
