After a long day outdoors Best Western Mammoth Hot Springs is a good place to spend a night or two; a lovely lake like Ferrell Lake is a brilliant site to go to. There is a perfect hiking trail in the neighborhood of Merrell Lake called the Sportsman Lake Trail, and why not explore close by Canyon Creek if you're here at Merrell Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Crystal Cross Mountain is beautiful       and can be made out from Merrell Lake, and Mulherin Creek is a great whitewater spot close by. What a site this is for outdoors folks. A perfect location for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Merrell Lake is Yellowstone River; camping at Carbella Campground is always a great experience. Going for a hike on the Pole Gulch Trail is always a magnificent adventure. If you need a site to stay Yellowstone Park North Travelodge is a nice choice, and the scenery                  at Merrell Dam is scenic. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Yankee Jim Campground and Picnic Area, and nearby you come across the Red Rock Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail. At Merrell Lake you don’t see much rain; most of the rain falls through May, and February on the other hand is the driest. Tom Miner Basin is right here at Merrell Lake, and you'll hit upon a picturesque lake called Green Lake. High temperatures at Merrell Lake during the summertime are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
