Sure, Sunken Rock Lake is in close proximity, and Jordan Mountain is painless to spot from Martes Lake. So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Absaroka       Range, not enough time. There are brilliant places to look at along the Lodgepole Trail; dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Big Timber. Martes Lake is located in the Absaroka Range. Near Martes Lake you hit upon the Republic Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and get dripping wet paddling on Boulder River. Going for a hike on the Thunderer Cutoff Trail is always a splendid adventure, and you can stay the night at Hicks Park Campground. This lake                  is so wonderful. Hells Canyon Campground is a nice campground nearby, and a good site to take a look at nearby is Jordan Pass. Martes Lake is a location that is rather dry usually; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Absaroka Range.
