For the period of the summertime months, highs usually are in the 70's at Margaret Lake while overnight lows are typically in the 30's. During the winter the highs are regularly in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Margaret Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Clarks Fork Yellowstone; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Russell Creek. Super 8       Motel Big Timber is a brilliant place to get some rest, and Margaret Lake is right by the Crazy Lakes Trail. So much amusing stuff in the Absaroka Range, just phenomenal. Get your pulse rate up on the perfect whitewater of Clarks Fork Yellowstone River, and Boulder Lakes is a tremendous lake nearby. This lake is one of the great places here in the Absaroka Range. And that's not all you can do here at Margaret Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Fox Creek                  Campground is a nice place to camp; why not take a refreshing hike along the Pilot Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Chief Joseph Campground is a magnificent campground nearby, and there are other places here than Margaret Lake, for example Reed Lake. And that's not all the things to do here in the Absaroka Range. Take a hike on the Crazy Mountain Trail.
