At Marcheta Lake throughout the warm months highs are in the 70's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Marcheta Lake temperatures sink to the 10's. Marcheta Lake is pretty dehydrated generally; May is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful.       Why not camp at Red Mountain Campground while you're here at Marcheta Lake, and as expected, this is a great neighborhood for people who like lakes, Big Brother Lake is a lake close at hand. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. There are some great whitewater spots on Madison River, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Moonlight Basin. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then                  we recommend Gallatin River, and why not a little side visit to Alder Creek. During your spree to Marcheta Lake you'll meet some people from Bozeman for sure. A wonderful nearby hotel is River Rock Lodge, and Big Sky is a very popular ski area nearby.
