Lower Quartz Lake is located in the Lewis Range. A lake close by is Middle Quartz Lake, and the panoramas at Glacier National Park will blow your mind. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Glacier Park/Columbia Falls. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lower Quartz Lake has to offer, you can camp at Bowman Lake Campground. | | go whitewater paddling on Flathead River - Middle Fork, and nearby you stumble on the Quartz Lake Trail which is a perfect hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lower Quartz Lake is not the only place nearby, Bowman Lake is a nearby lake. So many exciting things to do in the Lewis Range, not enough time. while, Logging Creek Campground is a great spot for that. So many exciting things in close proximity to Lower Quartz Lake, clearly amazing. Whitewater paddling is good on Flathead River - Middle Fork; you can go for a hike on
the Akokala Lake Trail. Lower Quartz Lake gets very little precipitation; December is the wettest month with most snow, and the driest month is April. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Kandahar Lodge is a perfect
place to spend a night or two, and Big Mountain has great slopes and a friendly staff. High temperatures at Lower Quartz Lake through the warm months are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 20's, and overnight lows at Lower Quartz Lake all through the winter frequently plunge into the 0's.

Not too hard to get to crossing Flattop on bits of an obsolete trail from Fifty Mountain, then skirt along the open hills sides near Trapper Peak. One scary steep hardpan ravine must be crossed where a slip would send you plunging 1000 feet down to Lake Nahsukin. An axe would be helpful, otherwise just run real fast so your momentum will carry you to good footing on the far side.... |
