On a tremendous day at Lower Quartz Lake you can take a hike along the Akokala Lake Trail, and if you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Flathead River - Middle Fork. Having a great time in the Lewis Range is easy. Lower Quartz Lake is not the only site close by, Middle       Quartz Lake is a close by lake, and Flathead River - Middle Fork is a good whitewater spot close by. At Lower Quartz Lake you don’t see much rainfall; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow, and the driest of the months is April. This lake is so wonderful. Glacier Park Super 8 Motel is a pleasant location to get some rest. A wonderful close by hotel is Kandahar Lodge, and you can stay the night at Bowman Lake Campground.
