If you come at the right time of year, Kootenai River offers some splendid whitewater; there's delightful hiking along the Crowell Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Yaak River, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Grouse Lake Trail. Do stop at Upper Cedar Lake close to Lower Cedar       Lake, it's a charming lake, and camping is available at Dorr Skeels Campground. Summertime at Lower Cedar Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Highs during the wintertime are commonly in the 30's with temperatures at Lower Cedar Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. The snow is tremendous at Turner Mountain, and Minor Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to. Now, you may                  assume that's heaps but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Lower Cedar Lake. The Pulpit Mountain National Recreation Trail offers hiking at its best, and why not camp at Kootenai River Camp Ground if you're here at Lower Cedar Lake. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Kootenai River Inn Casino & Spa is a good location to spend a night or two.
