A good close by hotel is Best Western Kootenai River Inn & Casino, and at Loon Lake you can catch a glimpse of Little Tom Mountain. La Foe Lake is a delightful lake close to Loon Lake, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Crowell Trail. High temperatures at Loon Lake during the summer are in the 80's, and the night is rather cooler of course, usually in the 40's. For the duration of the winter the highs are       usually in the 30's with temperatures at Loon Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Loon Lake; Pulpit Mountain National Recreation Trail is a great local trail, and there are some great whitewater spots on Yaak River. This lake is so wonderful. Really delightful skiing awaits you at Turner Mountain, and Loon Lake is right by the Grouse Lake Trail. From a precipitation point                  of view Loon Lake is a reasonably normal site; November is when you get the most rain here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Kootenai River Camp Ground is a great campground nearby; if you need a spot to stay Rodeway Inn Libby is a brilliant choice. You believe that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Lakes are such calm places, why not stop by Rainbow Lake near Loon Lake, and swing by Big Creek it's a brilliant place to visit.
