This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time. Loon Lake is pretty dry typically; the month with most of the rain is November; August is the month with the least moisture. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Loon Lake. Summer night lows sink down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's, and night lows during the wintertime for Loon Lake tend to       be in the 10's. If you need a place to stay Falls Motel is a good choice, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Sipes Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Horseshoe Lake; the Calx Mountain Trail is a wonderful hiking trail close by. This lake is one of the great places here in the Cabinet Mountains. Man, is there heaps of amusing stuff to do in the Cabinet Mountains.                  Why not camp at Happy's Inn and Resort if you're here at Loon Lake, and if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Divide Trail.
