This lake is located in the wonderful Absaroka Range. This lake is so wonderful. You could also explore Round Lake while you're here at Long Lake; it's close by, and you can stay the night at Soda Butte Campground. Sheep Mountain can be made out from Long Lake; there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Clarks Fork Yellowstone. Long Lake gets a normal amount of annual precipitation;       the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain while October is usually the driest month. Summertime highs at Long Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 30's. Highs all through the wintertime are commonly in the 20's, and overnight lows at Long Lake during the wintertime typically descend into the 0's. Go for a hike on the Pilot Creek Trail, and Long Lake is not the only site close by, Bob Lake is a close                  by lake. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Absaroka Range. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Long Lake has to offer, you can camp at Colter Campground, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Stillwater River.
