Lakes are fine; Round Lake is a lake that's near Long Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Colter Campground is a great location to camp, and get your pulse rate up on the delightful whitewater of Stillwater River. Be careful coming to the Absaroka Range, you might not ever want to return home again. Have a splendid hiking adventure along the Pilot Creek Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend       Clarks Fork Yellowstone. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Republic Trail is tremendous fun, and swing by Zimmer Creek it's a nice site to stop at. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Long Lake while night lows are commonly in the 30's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Long Lake are in the 0's. This is a great region for people who like lakes. Bob Lake is a lake in close proximity;                  a wonderful nearby hotel is Super 8 Big Timber. That right there is a load of entertaining stuff already but it goes on, the Absaroka Range has it all. While you're here at Long Lake you can take a hike along the North Crandall Trail; why not camp at Soda Butte Campground if you're here at Long Lake. Just can't get enough of Long Lake. The peak of Sheep Mountain can be distinguished from Long Lake; no need to travel far to check out exciting stuff like Alp Rock. This lake is one of the great places here in the Absaroka Range.
