Lonesome Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Lonesome Lake is not the only spot nearby, Beartooth Lake is a nearby lake, and Beartooth Lake Campground is a splendid local campground. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Lonesome Lake. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 30's. Through the wintertime highs are generally in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Lonesome Lake are in the 0's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Absaroka

Just can't get enough of the Absaroka Range. Going for a hike on the Beauty Lake Trail is always a splendid adventure, and you can hit the slopes at Red Lodge Mountain around here. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Lonesome Lake, you could also take a look at nearby Abandoned Lake; the summit of Lonesome Mountain can be distinguished from Lonesome Lake. What a site this is for outdoors people. Clarks Fork Yellowstone River has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby, and nearby you locate the Beartooth Highlakes
Trail which is a glorious hiking trail. There are wonderful spots to look at along the Clay Butte Trail, and Lonesome Lake is a great location to visit for more than one day, Top Of The World Campground is a great location to camp
nearby. Lonesome Lake gets a typical amount of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is June, and October on the other hand is the driest.
