Going for a hike on the North Crandall Trail is always a splendid adventure; Lone Lake is not the only place close by, Round Lake is a close by lake. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Lone Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 30's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Lone Lake. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the area next       to Lone Lake has to offer. Near Lone Lake you find the Pilot Creek Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail; if you come at the right time of year, Clarks Fork Yellowstone offers some wonderful whitewater. So many amusing things to do here in the Absaroka Range, too fine to be true. If you get bored of Lone Lake, you could also take a look at nearby Mud Lake, and a brilliant location to camp here at Lone Lake is Soda Butte Campground. The Republic Trail is                  a tremendous hiking trail next to Lone Lake; a splendid place to stop at is Colter Pass. The annual rainfall here at Lone Lake is about average; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is October. Lone Lake is a beautiful lake in the Absaroka Range. A great panorama of gorgeous Sheep Mountain is available from Lone Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Stillwater River. This lake is so wonderful. Super 8 Big Timber is a tremendous spot to get some rest, and Lone Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Colter Campground is a nice local campground. All year is a wonderful time in the Absaroka Range if you adore the outdoors.
