There's great hiking along the Iris Point Trail, and why not stop at close by Tamarack Creek if you're here at Lockwood Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Missoula-Riverside, Mt; you can catch a sight of Olson Peak from Lockwood Lake. Head up to Marshall Mountain and strap some skis to your feet, and Lockwood Lake is wonderful enough to       spend more than a day at, Turah Store and Campground is a wonderful local campground. The Butte Cabin Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best, and you could always look at Heyers Gulch. Summertime highs at Lockwood Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's, and the nighttime is rather chillier of course, commonly in the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Lockwood                  Lake descend into the 10's. At Lockwood Lake you don’t see much precipitation; June is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Montana Snowbowl is just what you need. Man, is there plenty of exciting things to do right next door to Lockwood Lake. Hubbards Ponderosa Lodge is a tremendous place to get some rest, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lockwood Lake; Solomon Ridge Trail is a splendid local trail.
