If you are in Gallatin county it's always a good idea to stop by Lizard Lakes. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Get wet paddling on Madison River, and dry warm beds await you at Park Condos. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lizard Lakes has to offer, you can camp at McGill Campground, and you can go for a hike on the Lightning Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Gallatin River in a kayak; Big Sky is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. Going for a hike on the Eldridge Trail is always a pleasant adventure. Good hiking is available along the Wapiti Creek Trail; if you need a spot to stay River Rock Lodge is a great choice.

the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lizard Lakes. There's so much to do here at Lizard Lakes that you need to camp here
for a while, Buffalo Horn Campground is a good place for that, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Moonlight Basin.
