     Nearby lakes? Sure, Albino Lake is in close proximity to Lizard Lakes; paddling on Madison River is so much fun. Get drenched paddling on Gallatin River; Lizard Lakes is right by the Lightning Creek Trail. Summertime at Lizard Lakes comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lizard Lakes are in the 10's. If you like skiing,  
   you're in luck; Moonlight Basin is in the neighborhood of Lizard Lakes; the Eldridge Trail offers hiking at its best.
This lake is so wonderful. The snow is delightful at Big Sky. Not much precipitation falls here at Lizard Lakes; the wettest month of the year is mostly June, that's the one that rains the most; January is the month with the least moisture.                also check out Meadow Lake while you're here; it's not far at all.
Now, you may think that's plenty but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Lizard Lakes. Lizard Lakes is a great site to visit for more than one day, McGill Campground is a great site to camp nearby, and hiking along the Wapiti Creek Trail is pleasant fun. If you need a place to stay Park Condos is a magnificent choice. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lizard Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Buffalo Horn Campground.

There?s this really neat hike a few miles away from us in Big Sky. It starts out near a small pond called Moose Lake, follows a path up some dense forest for a couple of miles, then opens up into these huge rolling meadows surrounded by Cedar Mountain, Pioneer Mountain, and Lone Mountain with a great view of Sphinx Mountain in the distance....
