At Little Sister Lake you always meet someone from Bozeman, and Red Mountain Campground is a tremendous local campground. If you come at the right time of year, Gallatin River offers some magnificent whitewater, and a nice close by hotel is Beaverhead. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Little Sister Lake, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. It starts out near a small pond called Moose Lake, follows a path up some dense forest for a couple of miles, then opens up into these huge rolling meadows surrounded by Cedar Mountain, Pioneer Mountain, and Lone Mountain with a great view of Sphinx Mountain in the distance.... |
