If       the weather is delightful here at Little Carlton Lake, you can go for a hike along the Sweeney Ridge Trail, and if you came to camp Fort Fizzle Campground is a pleasant spot to do that. Summer at Little Carlton Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Little Carlton Lake                  drop into the 10's. A nice close by hotel is Super 8 Motel - Missoula/Brooks Street, and whitewater paddling is wonderful on Kootenai Creek. Going for a hike along the Mill Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and paddling on Mill Creek is so much fun. Little Carlton Lake is one of the lakes here in the Bitterroot Range. Little Carlton Lake gets very little rainfall; May is the wettest month with most rain; October is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful.
