    A visit to Lilly Lake is always a good idea. There's so much to do here at Lilly Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cromwell Dixon Campground is a tremendous place for that. At Lilly Lake you don’t see much rainfall; most of the rain falls throughout May, and July is when it's the driest. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Lilly Lake. Head up to Great Divide and strap some skis to your feet, and Lois Lake is a nearby lake that you could
   pop by.

For the duration of the winter highs are typically in the 30's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Lilly Lake tend to be in the 10's. Go for a hike on the Sweeney Creek Ecology Trail, and while you're here, you could also stop at lovely Slate Lake. Good hiking is available along the Gould Helmville Trail;

               there's some flowing water nearby, Elliston Creek is a stream you can have a look at while you're here.
There are great sites to look at along the Bear Gulch Trail, and a perfect spot to check out close by is Kinney Gulch. This lake is so wonderful. A great close by hotel is Rodeway Inn Deer Lodge, and if you came to camp MacDonald Pass Campground is a brilliant place to do that.

Great Divide does not typically receive huge dumps of snow (That's why they call it ''Montana's Sunniest Ski Area''). They compensate with an incredibly effective modern snowmaking system that traditionally provides one of Montana's earliest openings and produces monster terrain parks. The other antidote to low snow is enormous terrain. With so many trails, glades and open bowls skier densities on the upper mountain and outer valleys resemble a backcountry skiing experience.
Mark Hoy has directed the Ski & Snowboard School for nearly 2 decades. His enthusiastic instructors provide FREE lessons all day long to anyone who tells us they've never skied or snowboarded before!
