While you're here at Lightning Lake, you could also go to charming Chalice Lake, and Lightning Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Hells Canyon Campground is a good place to camp nearby. These mountains rock, just check out all the cool things to do in the Absaroka Range. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Big Timber is a splendid site to spend a night or two, and you obtain a nice sight       of Chalice Peak from here. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff to do are really abundant here at Lightning Lake. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Republic Trail. Lightning Lake is ordinarily a relatively dehydrated place; through May this area sees the most rain while February is frequently the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Chippy Park Campground is a good campground nearby, and a good place for whitewater paddling is Boulder River. The Lodgepole                  Trail offers hiking at its best, and Jay Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. At Lightning Lake throughout the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's, and the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, usually in the 50's.
